Hello 2020 – In Home One Month New Baby Boy Newborn Session

I welcomed 2020 by taking baby Jase’s photo session during the first week of January. 

Jase’s parents Denise and Jomo chose this name for him because it means “Healer”. Denise was told she wouldn’t have children for many years. “Getting pregnant with my little miracle was and is what healed my heart!”, said Denise. Denise and Jomo looked up names with beautiful meanings and came across Jase – Healer. 

Jase’s middle name “Niles” also means Champion and his 11-year-old sister chose it for him. 

Baby Jase was about 1 month new at the time of the photoshoot. He is a preemie baby. Although at one month he reached the size of a typical newborn, because he has left the womb for quite some time, he tends to be more alert. We planned the themes around his schedule – captured studio styles while he was asleep and lifestyle while he was awake. 

One set of the lifestyle we had baby Jase lying comfortably on a blanket in his own outfit, and surrounded him with different objects such as ultrasound photos, toys, and books. Denise had purchased the book “The Wonderful Things You Will Be” by Emily Winfield Martin for someone else who was expecting a few years ago, and once she read it she always knew it is a book that she would love to read to her baby if she was ever blessed with one. 

“So it is the first book I bought for his little library because it gives hope and tells him to reach for the stars”, said Denise. 

Jase’s Daddy Jomo is a surfcaster who loves to catch and release bass. He mostly fishes at the beaches of NJ. it is his favorite hobby and brings him a lot of peace. 

So we planned a fisherman theme. 

Jase is already a very alert and strong baby. “I could feel that in utero. He was always active and pushed on Mommy with force”.  

“My main concern was that Jase would get too fussy as he had tummy issues and we would not be able to proceed. But Karen had such great patience and understanding that it went smoothly and I was calmed by her”. 

“Make sure baby is fed and in a calm mood”, advice from Denise to others considering a newborn session. 

Session was taken in the comfort of baby Jase’s home. We were blessed with good weather and was able to carry on the session in abundant natural light. We planned 4 color themes for this session – white, grey, blue, and brown. Two sets of studio style and two sets of lifestyle themes. I thank Denise and Jomo for being so patient and understanding as well. The couple happily picked out a gallery wrap art designed with one of their favorite images from this session. When Denise gave me the birth announcement card designed with the photos from this session I was so touched and almost cried. Being able to capture such precious memory means so much for me. What a great start of 2020!
