My passion for capturing these cherished moments was even featured in Bridgewater Lifestyle! Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with families across New Jersey, from as north as Fort Lee to as south as Voorhees Township, and many towns in Central New Jersey region including Bridgewater, Somerset, Edison, North Brunswick, East Brunswick, Marlboro, Princeton, and surrounding areas, to document this significant milestone.

The 100 Days Baby Milestone is a cherished tradition in many cultures, such as Chinese, Korean, and Indian communities. As a family photographer, I understand that these sessions are not just about beautiful photos—they’re about preserving memories, honoring traditions, and celebrating new life.

What is the 100 Days Celebration?

In Chinese culture, the 100 Days milestone is a significant event that symbolizes the wish for the baby to live 100 years. Families often host a banquet with relatives and friends, who bring gifts to bless the baby. Traditionally, babies wear a Longevity Lock necklace, red clothing, and sometimes special hats, bracelets, and anklets. While some parents still embrace these traditions, many choose a more modern, Westernized approach for their baby’s portraits.

In recent years, I’ve had the honor of welcoming more Korean families celebrating Baek-il (백일, 100 Days). This Korean tradition also involves a gathering with loved ones, a special rice cake called Baekseolgi, and a baby dressed in a traditional Hanbok or modern outfits.

I’ve also had the joy of photographing Indian families celebrating their baby’s 100 Days milestone in New Jersey. Each family brings unique cultural elements, from special outfits and jewelry to religious blessings that mark this special occasion.

Why is 100 Days Photography Unique?

Photographing babies at 100 days old (3-4 months) comes with its own set of challenges. At this stage:

• Babies are more alert and cannot be posed like newborns.
• Their attention span is short, and they can get tired quickly.
• They cannot sit up yet, and their neck muscles are still developing.
• Some babies enjoy belly time, while others may not be ready for it.

To create a varied and beautiful gallery, I use creative posing techniques, provide outfits and accessories, and shoot from different angles and perspectives. I also encourage parents and siblings to join in, making the session more meaningful and memorable. Furry friends are welcomed too!

Special Themes: 2D Floor Art & Unique Props

Since 2017, I’ve introduced 2D Floor Art photography into my 100 Days sessions. Inspired by artists like Adele Enersen and Angela Forker, this unique style transforms the floor into a themed backdrop, allowing me to create imaginative and artistic storytelling images.

Depending on the season and parents’ interests, I design custom themes that incorporate:

✅ Seasonal elements (spring blossoms, autumn leaves, winter wonderland)
✅ Parents’ hobbies or professions
✅ Cultural symbols and colors
✅ Safe and comfortable props for milestone posing

This approach makes each session one-of-a-kind and adds an extra touch of creativity to your baby’s milestone photos.
